In this workshop, representatives from the Cities of Auburn and Opelika and Auburn University will present case studies on how they designed, installed, and funded urban bioretention projects and other nature based stormwater solutions.
Presenters will discuss reasoning, planning efforts, lessons learned, and suggestions for others interested in bioretention design and integrated stormwater management. The workshop will take a ‘learn with us and from us’ approach, using case studies and practical examples that can apply to other locations. After a catered lunch, participants will be invited to tour the newly designed and installed bioretention cell sites at the HC Morgan Pollution Control center.
This workshop is for City engineers, planners, designers, engineering firms, landscape architecture and engineering students, MS4 managers, and other city representatives across Alabama that hold stormwater decision making roles.
The workshop is hosted by the Auburn University Water Resources Center and is funded by the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation via a grant to the City of Auburn and partners.
Cost – $60 – Fee waived for municipal employees
