DEEP 5 : Living with Chronic Disease: Mobilizing Family and Friends (Etowah County Extension Office)

The Diabetes Empowerment Education Program is free, six weeks of diabetes self-management strategies. Participants will learn: Understanding the Human Body, Understanding Risk Factors for Diabetes, Monitoring Your Body, Being Physically Active, Planning Meals, Identifying and Preventing Complications, Learning about Medications & Medical Care and Living with Diabetes: Mobilizing Your Family and Friends. (Class Description Below)
• Emotional aspects of chronic disease, such as stress and depression
• Patients’ rights
•How to involve family and friends in the self-care program
