Chainsaw Safety: Preparing for Hurricane Season

Gulf Coast Research and Extension Center, 8300 Hwy 104, Fairhope, AL 36532

Storms increase the likelihood of tree failures, which damage homes, disrupt utilities, block roads and twist, break, and bend creating dangerous cutting situations during cleanup. Our one day chainsaw safety workshop prepares workers for operating saws during storm season. Attendees will learn about PPE, saw handling and ergonomics, felling procedures and limbing and bucking. The class consists of indoor presentations and outdoor demonstrations.
