Join Alabama 4-H for the annual Youth Leadership Conference March 21–22 at the Alabama 4-H Center. This two-day event will be action packed with fun workshops and leadership adventures for youth ages 9–13.

Goals

  • Explore new and exciting opportunities in 4-H.
  • Reach out to other young people.
  • Attend workshops to learn valuable leadership skills.
  • Help others through community service.
  • Motivate 4-H’ers to stay active on the local level.
  • Make the best better.

Age

The Youth Leadership Conference is for enrolled 4-H juniors and intermediates (4-H ages 9–13).

Registration

Registration opens Monday, January 27. A one-time, nonrefundable payment of $90 per person is due with registration. The last day to register through 4HOnline is Tuesday, March 3. Online registration instructions are on the website at www.alabama4h.com. Registration includes lodging for one night, meals, supplies, and a T-shirt.

Agent Expenses

4-H Foundation regional Extension agent expenses will come from his or her allotted travel account.

Dress Code

Attendees should follow the guidelines of the Alabama 4-H Dress Code. Casual or sports clothes are appropriate for the rest of the event. Come prepared for cold weather and rain. Each participant must bring a pair of closed-toe shoes.

Chaperones

Each county is to send at least one adult from its 4-H county team or a volunteer (age 21 or older) with its count delegation. Volunteer leaders must have been screened and trained and have received letters of acceptance as a county volunteer from the county Extension coordinator or appropriate 4-H Foundation REA.

Forms

Each youth must bring a paper copy of the Alabama 4-H Youth Consent Form or complete the form in 4HOnline.
