Thousands of plants will be available for purchase including cucumbers, eggplants, herbs, peppers, tomatoes and squash.
“These plants are perfect for gardens of all kinds, including raised beds and containers,” said Extension Agent Jack LeCroy. “Plus, our Master Gardeners are graciously volunteering their time and expertise during the event, so buyers can get all their gardening questions answered.”
The Spring Festival will include a full slate of educational programming with Alabama Extension agents and other experts. Topics range from nutrition and food safety to pollinators and planting for success.
For the first time in its three-year history, the Spring Festival will take place at the Mobile Botanical Gardens. Attendees will receive free admission to the gardens thanks to the National Association of RC&D Councils.
Additional vendors will offer unique items and gardening essentials. The Mobile Botanical Gardens will also have a selection of ornamental shrubs and trees available for sale.
“If the warmer temperatures don’t already have you excited about the gardening season, then the beautiful scenery of the botanical gardens is sure to provide inspiration,” LeCroy said. “This event is always a fun one because people gain new insights and enjoy connecting with fellow gardening enthusiasts.”
