AUBURN UNIVERSITY, Ala. – Remember the sweet nectar of strawberries on a hot Alabama day? Live Well Alabama does too! So for this Food Friday recipe, they paired strawberries with a kick of jalapeño to make a scrumptious Sassy Strawberry Salsa. Enjoy this salsa with your sassiest friends on tacos, baked chicken or fish.

- One lemon, juiced
- 1 ½ teaspoons of honey
- One pint of strawberries, diced
- ½ small red onion, diced
- ½ cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- One jalapeño, seeded and diced
- Pro tip: Mashed blueberries and diced peaches can also be used in place of strawberries.
Mix lemon juice and honey in a large bowl. Stir in the strawberries, onion, cilantro and jalapeño. Chill and serve.
