Farmers Market Salad

AUBURN UNIVERSITY, Ala. – Salads are quintessential for summer. They are a great way to get those vital nutrients without feeling heavy after a meal, making them perfect for a day in the hot Alabama sun. Mundane everyday iceberg lettuce salads might get boring. That is why on this Food Friday, Live Well Alabama is serving up delicious Farmers Market Salad. During the summer fresh fruit and vegetables are easy to find at the local farmers market, so this dish is sure to be a hit.

  • Three tomatoes, sliced
  • One small red onion, sliced
  • Three peaches, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon of honey

Pro Tips

Ripe peaches only last for a couple of days, so make sure to only purchase amounts that can be used in a timely manner. Also, choose tomatoes that are brightly colored, plump and heavy.


Combine all ingredients in a bowl and stir, then chill and serve.
