The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued cleaning and disinfecting guidelines for facilities in communities, workplaces, and schools. Cleaning and Disinfecting Your Facility on the CDC website outlines general cleaning and disinfecting information, as well as specific instructions for surfaces such as soft surfaces and electronics. This piece also covers how cleaning and disinfecting should be handled if the facility has a known person or employee who is sick.
If a business keeps cleaning and/or disinfecting products on their business site or facility, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requires that the business keeps safety data sheets on all chemicals kept on the business premises. For more information on these safety data sheets, visit the United States Department of Labor website. OSHA also publishes the Small Business Handbook, an excellent guide for small business owners to have.
