Why a money podcast?
Members of Alabama Extension’s human sciences team said the desire to deliver valuable financial information to more communities across the state was a primary factor in the podcast’s creation.
“Studies show an increase of 78% in podcast popularity,” White said. “We found podcasting as a way to reach and teach listeners about topics related to household financials.”
The past few years have proven that financial literacy is imperative in a post-pandemic economy. Consumers have more questions than ever, and Alabama Money is a perfect resource for those who need help or want to learn more about personal and family finances.
What will I learn?
Johnson said the team worked together to identify relevant topics along with industry experts for each subject area. The topics covered in the Alabama Money podcast include the following:
- Changes to medical debt reporting
- Financing college education
- Buy now, pay later purchasing
