AUBURN UNIVERSITY, Ala. – Dust off those dancing shoes and break out the instrumental warmups. Alabama 4-H is calling all current members to showcase their talent in a virtual contest in July.
Molly Gregg, assistant director of Alabama 4-H, says the contest is a great way to grow independence and build confidence in young people.
“We are looking forward to seeing the unique and creative talents shared by our young people,” said Gregg. “We want this experience to be fun while also helping our members build confidence and independence by sharing skills they have mastered.”
Participants may choose from a variety of talent categories including vocal, instrumental and dance, among others. All talents should be shared via video submission in 4HOnline. The deadline for entry is July 18.
The contest includes two divisions. Participants ages 9 to 13 should enter the junior division. Participants ages 14 to 18 should enter into the senior division.
In addition, all acts must be solo due to current coronavirus (COVID-19) safety recommendations. Contest rules allow only one entry per person per category.
First, second and third place winners in each division will receive ribbons and recognition through social media.
“We know our 4-H’ers are extremely talented,” Gregg said. “This contest will only help make the best better.”
