NOTICE: The information provided below represents the "Year 2000 Readiness Disclosure" for the Auburn University College of Agriculture, the Alabama Cooperative Extension System, and the Alabama Agricultural Experiment Station as defined in the Year 2000 Information and Readiness Disclosure Act (U.S.C. 105th Congress, 2d Session, S. 2392)The Auburn University College of Agriculture, the Alabama Cooperative Extension System, and the Alabama Agricultural Experiment Station participate in a joint computer network (ACESAG) and receive support from the Computer Technology Unit (CTU). CTU's goal is to have all supported ACESAG computer resources ready for the Year 2000. CTU began planning for Year 2000 issues in August 1998 and has coordinated that effort with the AU Telecommunications Department, the Division of University Computing, and the College of Engineering. Testing of desktop PCs began in January 1999 and is nearly complete. Certification of network applications and hardware has been underway since February 1999 and will culminate in a Year 2000 simulation of the ACESAG network services on July 31, 1999.
