We have provided the Question and the Answer to the FAQ that you requested!

QUESTION:
Do home mortgage and lending institutions now require special well water analyses before approving loans for persons purchasing properties with private water systems?
ANSWER:
Some do and others will likely follow in the future. The most commonly required tests are for microbial coliform and E. coli contamination since most homes with private water wells also have on-site septic systems. Additional tests may be required for arsenic, uranium, petroleum products or other contaminants in areas where specific problems have been identified. Some states, counties or municipalities are now requiring a seller to absorb the costs of such tests when the property is put up for sale.
