QUESTION:  
What is bioengineering for stream bank and shoreline erosion control?
ANSWER:  
One of the best solutions to stream bank and shoreline erosion often involves the combined use of native plants growing among rocks or in combination with erosion control fabrics. Since this is a mixture of using biology (plants) with engineering methods (rock and fabric placement), it is now referred to as bioengineering.
