Chewacla State Park is within 5 miles of downtown Auburn. The park, which encompasses 696 acres of land, includes a 26-acre lake, 5 vacation cottages, campground, picnic areas, fishing, swimming, hiking, and tennis courts is sure to please everyone in your family!
History and Heritage!
Visit historic Tuskegee, Alabama, only 30 minutes from Auburn. At the George Washington Carver Museum on the Tuskegee University campus, study exhibits of Carver's work, samples of his watercolors, and artifacts from his library. You can also tour The Oaks, Booker T. Washington's personal residence. Be sure and visit Tuskegee Airmen National Historic Site which is only a few minutes from Tuskegee University.
An Out-of-This-World Experience!
While in Alabama you should not miss visiting the NASA Space and Rocket Center and Museum. Six NASA astronauts have graduated from Auburn University and went on to complete a mission in space.
