About the Conference
What is NETC?
The National Extension Technology Conference (NETC) is an annual gathering of IT professionals from land-grant universities and colleges across the country. To those who attend NETC regularly, it has become known as a great opportunity to learn from colleagues at other universities and to share successes and challenges in a variety of technology areas including web development, programming, networking, digital audio & video, distance education, social media, and others. In even-numbered years, NETC is traditionally hosted at a land grant university campus, whereas in odd-numbered years the conference partners with the Association of Communication Excellence (ACE) at other locations. NETC exists as an annual conference, not as an organization, so attendance and participation are not limited by any particular membership.
NETC 2010 marks the 25th annual conference, which will take place May 23-26 at Auburn University, Alabama, hosted by the Alabama Cooperative Extension System. Past conferences have typically included IT individuals who support Extension and Extension-related disciplines such as agriculture, human sciences, forestry, and ag experiment stations. For NETC 2010, an invitation is extended to others in the Extension and land grant communities who have an interest in technology. We invite you to come learn as an attendee and/or share as a presenter. Breakout sessions on a variety of topics will be offered by IT professionals and others from numerous universities. Please plan to take advantage of this great opportunity to learn about new approaches and methods and to share your experiences with your colleagues.

404 Awards?
Named
for the infamous 404
Error, the NETC 404 Awards are a hallowed and time honored tradition.
Individuals in the NETC community come together in a spirit of fun to celebrate and exchange stories of their most interesting, challenging, and entertaining technology related experiences over the past year.
Although the categories may vary from year to year as determined by the hosts, the person with the most compelling story in each category receives a coveted 404 Award. Participants present their stories to their peers in attendance and winners are determined by audience response.
The 404 Awards Banquet is an optional event, so be sure to add it when registering for the conference! Go ahead and start compiling your best stories early. We look forward to hearing what you have to share!
