Alabama's LifeSmarts Program is open to any team of teens of four to five members who are in the 9th through 12th grades with an adult coach. Each team member and coach must register by sending NCL their permission slips and release forms (one per person).

Practice tests for 2009 competitions will be available on-line. Alabama's 2009 on-line LifeSmarts Competition is from Monday, September 15, 2008, through Friday, January 30, 2009. Alabama's in-person competition date has been set for Wednesday, March 4, 2009, on the campus of Auburn University in Montgomery, in Montgomery, Alabama.
