Description: This program is designed for anyone who has interest in expanding their knowledge to raise sheep and goats to sustain production. Program will be held at Jackson County Extension Office, 27115 John T Reid Pkwy # 2, Scottsboro, AL 35768,Phone: (256) 574-2143.Presentation and classroom discussions will cover several management issues of sheep and goat management such as: tagging, injection sites, hoof health management, FAMACHA system for worm control, newborn care, CMT (California Mastitis Test) to identify does and ewes with mastitis, body condition scoring, nutritional and good forage management, biosecurity measures, disposal of medication and others substances. Lunch will be provided. Hands-on demonstrations will be held at a local sheep or goat producer farm after lunch. Time 9:00 to Noon -" Class Room 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm -" Hands-on Demonstrations

Description: Learn firearm safety and shooting skills while practicing the sports of skeet and trap. Bring a .12 gauge or .20 gauge shotgun, 2 or 3 boxes of target load ammo, safety glasses or sunglasses, and hearing protection. $5 per round Meets at the Muscle Shoals Skeet & Trap Range in St. Florian/Greenhill. Directions: from Florence: take CR47 through St. Florian, cross over Happy Hollow bridge, turn left on CR 353, follow signs to the range. State Competition: April 13-14, 2018

Description: Learn and practice archery safety and skills using a compound or recurve bow. Some Genesis bows are available to use; bring your own bow and 3 arrows if you can. Equipment provided through a grant from NW Alabama RC&D Council. Meets on the same day and place as the Shot-gun Club. Participants can do both activities.
