Description: The Alabama Master Naturalist Program is offering its first training in the Wiregrass Region of Alabama starting in January, 2018 and ending in April, 2018. This is a statewide program whose goal is to help promote awareness, understanding, and respect of Alabama's natural world among Alabama's citizens and visitors. In addition, the AMN program strives to develop a statewide corps of well-informed volunteers providing education, outreach, and service dedicated to the beneficial management of natural resources and natural areas within their communities. To become fully trained, a participant is required to complete 40-hours of basic training (see the list of the sessions for the Wiregrass training). It is preferred that participants sign-up for the entire 40-hours but participants are given the option of signing up for individual classes if it better meets their schedule. They will not be considered as having completed their training until they have attended all 8 sessions. Each session will begin at 9 am and go until around 4 pm each day. Cost: If you register for all eight sessions, the price is $200.00 If you choose to register for only some of the classes, the price is $30.00 per session. We are still working in the locations for each of the sessions as we want to make sure we use locations within the Wiregrass Region that are complimentary to the session topics.
