Description: Auburn University Better Process Control School (BPCS) offers instruction which fulfills the FDA and USDA Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) requirements to certify supervisors thermal processing systems, acidification and container closure evaluation programs for acidified canned foods. Companies which manufacture low acid and acidified foods must operate with a certified supervisor on the premises when processing as specified in 21 CFR Part 108.25(f) and 108.35(g). FDA's regulations in 21 CFR 108, 113, and 114 became effective May 15, 1979. These regulations are designed to prevent public health problems in low-acid and acidified low-acid canned foods. The BPCS provide the practical application of the principles set forth by these regulations.

Description: A Private Applicator uses or supervises the use of any pesticide for producing any agricultural commodity on property owned or rented, or on the property of another person if applied without compensation. This is a testing period after studying the Study Manual in order to provide the Private Applicator permit to the participant after scoring at least 70. *Additional fee of $25.00 shall be forwarded by the applicant to the Department of Ag for Permit.

Participants will explore their interest in the science behind rocket flight, then use that knowledge to design and build a model rocket - without using a kit! What size body tube? What shape fins, and how many? How will the payload return to Earth safely? The group project will be entered in UNA's Rocketry Challenge on March 24 in Russellville.
