Description: Studies have shown that Alabama has the highest rate of Diabetes in the United States. The Right Bite Diabetes Cooking School is a fun way to learn how to enjoy delicious food that is prepared with less fat, sugar, and sodium. The program will provide excellent information that will help anyone preparing food to control diabetes, high blood pressure or any chronic disease. It is sponsor by Alabama Cooperative Extension (Elmore County Office). It will be 6 sessions that will cover: Portion control, Label reading, use of various sweeteners, choosing carbohydrate wisely, increasing fiber, choosing the right fats and control of high blood pressure. Description: QuickBooks for Farmers is a two hour evening class to train farmers on using the basic features of QuickBooks Pro accounting software. The first evening will cover building a sample farm file and entering sample data. The second evening will review a completed sample farm's year-end reports. This allows students to see a full year of QuickBooks data.
