Description: Cherokee County 4-H is offering our 4-H RiverKids I program to youth, ages 9 to 18 (as of 1/1/17), who live in or attend school in Cherokee County. These youth must be able to swim. This is a kayak education program that let's the youth experience Cherokee County's abundant water resources while learning paddling skills and having fun in an outdoor 4-H setting. They will also learn ecology, water safety, conservation, water quality, and much more. This is a 2 day event with day #1 consisting of both on land and over the water instruction on Weiss Lake. Day #2 is a guided float trip on Terrapin Creek. The fee is $25 per youth, which includes instruction, kayak, paddle, life jacket, all safety equipment, and shuttle fees. Youth will be responsible for their own lunch, drinks, snacks, sunscreen, etc. Pre-Registration is required by June 1st. Limited to 15 youth, so register early. To register: Come by the Cherokee County Extension Office, located at 1526 Chesnut Bypass in Centre, during normal business hours. We are open Monday through Friday from 7:45 am to 4:30 pm. We close for lunch from 12 to 12:45 pm. Registration Fee and all paperwork will be required to hold your spot.

Description: Today's Mom is comprised of a series of six lessons, each containing clearly stated goals. Each lesson consists of verbal and written instructions along with interactive activities designed to help moms-to-be learn to make healthy diet and physical activity choices for themselves and their babies. Today's Mom lessons are designed for ease of preparation and implementation. Lessons are scripted to make delivery easy. Accompanying materials reinforce lesson concepts and make learning about healthy eating simple and fun. Each lesson includes hands-on activities, recipes, and more. Activities reinforce concepts in ways that are fun and interactive.

Description: QuickBooks for Farmers is a two evening class to train farmers on using the basic features of QuickBooks Pro accounting software. The first evening will cover building a sample farm file and entering sample data. The second evening will review a completed sample farm's year-end and management reports. This allows students to see a full year of QuickBooks data.
