Description: The Alabama Cooperative Extension System (ACES) and Auburn University Fisheries and Allied Aquacultures Department are offering Fish Camp-"five days of intense fun and hands-on activities blended into a creative learning experience that provides the broadest possible exposure to natural resource careers with an emphasis on aquaculture, fisheries, and aquatic ecology. This camp involves a lot of field/outdoor activity and is a great opportunity to learn from Auburn's renowned fisheries, aquaculture, and aquatic ecology professionals. The camp is open to high school students age 15-18. Students will have the opportunity to make their own lures, fish for a trophy size bass in the AU fisheries research ponds, kayak in the Coosa River, seine a fish pond, see flying carp, and much more. Students will experience an amazing campus-life in this one week program full of evening social and recreational activities. Camp participants will have 24/7 counselor supervision.

Description: A Private Applicator uses or supervises the use of any pesticide for producing any agricultural commodity on property owned or rented, or on the property of another person if applied without compensation. This is a testing period after studying the Study Manual in order to provide the Private Applicator permit to the participant after scoring at least 70. *Additional fee of $25.00 shall be forwarded by the applicant to the Department of Ag for Permit.

Description: Many homeowners battle insects and wildlife in their lawns, gardens, and backyards. Whether it is the increasing number of ant hills, moles tunneling across the yard, or the worms in the vegetable garden they are all considered pest in need of eradication. In effort to help those dealing with nuisance pest and wildlife, the Alabama Extension System will be hosting a Backyard Insects and Wildlife program at the Covington County Extension Office on June 15th, 2017 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Topics will include: the control of fire ants and other home pest, lawn and garden insects, and managing wildlife for homeowners. Description: The Alabama Cooperative Extension System (ACES) will hold a meeting covering early detection and control of fall armyworms to help livestock and hay producers learn options to better control these pests in their pastures and hayfields. The meeting will take place on Thursday, June 15 at the Randolph County Ag Center in Wedowee, AL from 6:00 -" 8:00 pm CST. Join us as Dr. Kathy Flanders, ACES Entomology Extension Specialist, discusses methods to control the fall armyworm in your pastures. You will learn how the armyworm's lifecycle impacts its' damage to your fields, and you will be better prepared for early detection and proper treatment to control the pest. Please RSVP to the Randolph County Extension Office at (256) 357-2841 by Monday, June 5, 2017 to reserve your spot.
