Description: Cherokee County 4-H is offering at least two RiverKids II sessions this summer. The first will be on June 7th and the second one will be held on July 12th. These sessions will be exclusively for those youth who have successfully completed a previous 4-H RiverKids I program in Cherokee County. This will be a one day, float trip on Terrapin Creek. We will be learning more about paddling, water safety, environmental stewardship, water quality, etc. The cost is only $10 per participant and space is limited. Register at the Cherokee County Extension Office by June 1st for the June event and June 30th for the July event. When you register, you will be expected to pay your registration fee and complete your child's paperwork (water liability and health forms). Register early to make sure you get a spot. You may not register until AFTER you have successfully completed the RKI program.

Discussion of insect pests will include descriptions of the insects, biology , economic thresholds and management strategies. Weed identification and management strategies will be covered. State Pesticide points and 5.5 CCA points in the Pest Management Category will be provided.

Description: Today's Mom is comprised of a series of six lessons, each containing clearly stated goals. Each lesson consists of verbal and written instructions along with interactive activities designed to help moms-to-be learn to make healthy diet and physical activity choices for themselves and their babies. Today's Mom lessons are designed for ease of preparation and implementation. Lessons are scripted to make delivery easy.
