Description: It's about more than driving - it's about LIVING The primary emphasis of the Tire Rack Street Survival® is a "hands-on" driving experience in real-world situations! We use your own car to teach you about its handling limits and how you can control them. The students will become more observant of the traffic situation they find themselves in. They will learn to look far enough ahead to anticipate unwise actions of other drivers. As the students master the application of physics to drive their cars, they will make fewer unwise driving actions themselves. They will understand why they should always wear their own seat-belts, and why they should insist that their passengers wear seat-belts, too.

Description: This one day meeting will include indoor talks in the morning followed by outdoor field stations in the afternoon. It will be of interest to a wide range of people including foresters and other natural resource managers, horticultural professionals and Government agency personnel. The focus of this year's meeting is invasive plant control for habitat restoration, with closer looks at chinaberry, wisteria and kudzu control, as well as how to use herbicides effectively and an update on the revised certificate standards for pesticide applicators. An invasive plant ID challenge will be held again this year, with prizes to the top scorers. The meeting has been approved for the following CEUs:5 Cat 1 CFE, 5 PLM, and 6 CCA. Pesticide recertification points have been applied for ... and should be posted soon.

Description: Live Well Faith Communities (LWFC) is a nine week program to improve the quality of life and economic well-being of Alabamians. LWFC programs are designed to work with faith based communities to offer programs and services to support their members. Lesson 3 focus on how to shop for value, check the facts. Participants will also learn how to check the nutrition facts label when shopping to eat better and how to shop for healthy foods to serve at the faith community. LWFC is open to all faith communities.
