Description: Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) is a nationally coordinated, state implemented program that provides education and training for cattle producers about good animal husbandry and management. The goal of BQA is to help producers raise cattle under the best management and environmental conditions possible. The training is practical and based on scientific knowledge. BQA guidelines are also designed to ensure all beef consumers can trust and have confidence in the entire beef industry. Participants in this BQA training will have the opportunity to engage in four interactive rotations to learn about: 1. different options for animal identification and record keeping, as well as how to most effectively manage the data recorded for improved herd production and profitability 2. how to evaluate brood cows every year based on 'Seven Quality Checks' 3. safe livestock handling and hauling 4. how to administer all animal health products to beef cattle
