Description: This workshop will focus in-depth on the management strategies for recreational fish ponds. Participants will be exposed to information and techniques to properly manage fish ponds for good fishing, controlling aquatic vegetation, and managing nuisance wildlife around the pond. Participants are also invited to bring a water sample and/or a weed sample for identification and testing. Lunch will be provided. Please call the Pike County Extension Office (334-566-0985) to pre-register for this seminar.

Description: Native Azalea Plant Sale 2017 The Lee County Master Gardeners Association will be hosting a native azalea plant sale, as well as companion plants, April 8, 9am to 1pm, at the Dean Road Recreation Center, 307 S. Dean Rd. Auburn. The inventory of plants has been expanded due to increased interest in the sale. Native plants grew here prior to the arrival of Europeans in North America and generally require less care and maintenance and they contribute to maintaining our native ecosystem. Master Gardeners will be available to answer questions and offer suggestions. The LCMGA supports the Auburn-Opelika community by offering a variety of garden related programs and workshops for the public. The association also maintains several community demonstration gardens.
