Description: Master Gardener Volunteer Training classes will be held at the Houston County Extension Office taught by Auburn University and Extension Specialist, Regional Extension Agents, and Certified Master Gardeners. Subject matter will include plant nutrition, plant id, turfgrass, landscape management, landscape design, entomology, plant diseases, vegetable gardening, home fruit production, and more. Fifty hours of volunteer service is required to become a Certified Master Gardener.Please call the Extension office for more information or an application form. The deadline for application is January 2nd, 2017.

Description: Today's Mom is comprised of a series of six lessons, each containing clearly stated goals. Each lesson consists of verbal and written instructions along with interactive activities designed to help moms-to-be learn to make healthy diet and physical activity choices for themselves and their babies. Today's Mom lessons are designed for ease of preparation and implementation. Lessons are scripted to make delivery easy. Accompanying materials reinforce lesson concepts and make learning about healthy eating simple and fun. Each lesson includes hands-on activities, recipes, and more. Activities reinforce concepts in ways that are fun and interactive.
