Description: The Calhoun County Cooperative Extension is proud to announce they will be hosting Camp Cane Creek this summer at the Cane Creek Gardens! Participants will be taking : • Junior Master Gardener Classes • Junior Master Conservationist Classes • Arianna’s Nutrition Expedition Classes The camp will begin July 9th and go for four weeks ending August 3rd. The activities will begin at 8:00 A.M. and end at 3:00 P.M., Monday through Friday. The cost is $60 per week for kids ages 6-12. You can sign up your child to attend at the Calhoun County Extension Office, 1702 Noble St. Suite 108, in the Calhoun County Administration Building. Description: Rain Barrel Workshop: Chris Miller of the Auburn University Marine Extension & Research Center along with Denise Heubach of the Alabama Cooperative Extension System will be conducting a rain barrel workshop on Friday, July 20th, 2012. A short program on rain water collection, storm-water management, and water resource issues will be followed with the construction of the barrels. If you would like to participate, please register with the Auburn University Marine Center office by Monday, July 16th. To register, call (251)438-5690. Please keep in mind that you must be able to transport your completed barrel home at the end of the day. Checks must be made payable to Auburn University.
