Description: Deliver and donate a colony of honey bees to Aunt Katie's Community Garden and educate youth from Hawk Houston Boys and Girls Club about the importance of pollination for their garden and the environment. Explain the concept of pollination and the many native and no-native pollinators that perfrom the job. Explain the life of a honey bee to include making wax, foraging for pollen and nectar,and production of honey. Explain pollinators contribution to the environemnt and pollinator preservation.

Description: The"Four Elements of Controlling Diabetes" is designed to educate Alabama citizens on learning skills that will help them control their blood glucose levels. Those who are not diabetic but may be at risk for type 2 diabetes can also benefit by learning how to become more physically active and to eat more healthy as a way to prevent or delay the disease. Participants can expect to gain health tips, resources, recipes and more by attending this seminar. There is no fee to attend.
