Description: Class limit is 20. The class is designed for you or someone you love that has been newly diagnosed with diabetes or just struggling to manage diabetes and your their diet. The class will be taught by Jennifer Dutton, Regional Extension Agent and Registered Dietitian with the Alabama Cooperative Extension System. Topics to be covered include: Diabetic Meal Planning; Diabetic Menus & Recipes; Carb Counting; Portion Sizes; Glycemic Index and Glycemic Load; Weight Management; and Healthful Whole Grains. There is no charge to attend, but due to space limitations, you must pre-register to attend no later than March 16th. Please call the St. Clair County Extension office at (205) 338-9416 to register.

Description: Health Rocks is a healthy living program for ages 10 years and up sponsored by the National 4-H Council. The goal is to bring youth families, and communities together to reduce tobacco, alcohol and drug use by youth. The event will provide youth an opportunity to receive accurate health information regarding norms and consequences of youth tobacco, alcohol and drug use.
