The topics to be covered include Plant Biology, Soils and Fertility, Herbs and Perennials, Plant Pathology, Entomology, Plant Propagation, Woody Plant Selection, Plant Care and Pruning, Lawn Care and Weed Control, Vegetable Gardening and Composting, Invasive Plant ID and Control, and Landscape Design. After completing the course, Master Gardener interns will be required to give 50 hours of volunteer service to Extension and their communities through beautification projects, horticultural workshops and demonstrations, helping neighborhood schools and churches, and much more.
