Description: Kickoff Auburn Home Games with Forestry Short Courses 4 CFE's available per course Are you a forester or land manager interested in attending a continuing education course? Or a landowner who would like to learn about forestry but you haven't had the time? If yes, then the Forestry and Football continuing education program may be for you! Prior to Auburn University home football games in the months of September, October, and November, you are invited to join Alabama Cooperative Extension System, Auburn University School of Forestry and Wildlife Sciences, and the Longleaf Pine Stand Dynamics Lab at Auburn for the following forestry related continuing education courses Each course starts at 8:00 am and wraps-up with a fun tailgate style barbecue lunch at noon! Description: Do you enjoy spending time in the outdoors? Would you like to learn more about the natural diversity that exists in this place we call Alabama? Are you interested in learning more about Alabama’s geology, fauna and flora and how these things are all related? Would you like to learn how you can be involved in the management of Alabama’s natural resources? Then, you will want to participate in the Alabama Master Naturalist program training. This first workshop will begin with an overview of the Alabama Master Naturalist Program followed by classroom instruction and field experiences related to the biodiversity of Alabama’s diverse forest lands. Workshop participants will learn how to use a simple field guide to identify a variety of trees as well as go on a walking field trip through a diverse forested area to see, and experience first-hand the concepts and information that are covered during the workshop.
