Description: The Strengthening Families Program: For Parents and Youth 10-14 (SFP 10-14) is a parent, youth, and family skills-building curriculum designed to: prevent teen substance abuse and other behavior problems, strengthen parenting skills * build family strengths The program is delivered with seven sessions for parents, youth, and families using realistic videos, role-playing, discussions, learning games, and family projects. The seven week program will take place at Centreville Middle School for 6th grade youth and parents/ guardians. The program will take place once a week beginning in January. The sessions will begin at 5:30 pm with dinner and sessions will begin at 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Each family that attends will receive $20.00 a session which equals at total of $140.00. Free child care for children that are not participating in the program will be provided.
