Description: Rocky Ravine Park is a great location for a Farmers Market. The park provides a safe, comfortable environment including shade, restroom, and fresh water. Some of the farmers also accept the Seniors Farmers Market Nutrition Program vouchers that are available to some seniors. Open through the summer on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.

Description: Let's take a road trip! We will travel to the 4-H Center in Columbiana for a day of fun activities. Participants will have the opportunity to touch, observe and learn about reptiles and amphibians native to Alabama as well as to explore the amazing underwater world of Lay Lake. They will participate in teambuilding field activities before tackling the climbing wall on site. At day's end, a visit to the pool will provide time to cool down and relax before heading home. Lunch provided. We have a limited number of adult chaperone spots open also at $21 each.

Description: The Calhoun County Cooperative Extension is proud to announce they will be hosting Camp Cane Creek this summer at the Cane Creek Gardens! Participants will be taking : • Junior Master Gardener Classes • Junior Master Conservationist Classes • Arianna’s Nutrition Expedition Classes The camp will begin July 9th and go for four weeks ending August 3rd. The activities will begin at 8:00 A.M. and end at 3:00 P.M., Monday through Friday. The cost is $60 per week for kids ages 6-12. You can sign up your child to attend at the Calhoun County Extension Office, 1702 Noble St. Suite 108, in the Calhoun County Administration Building. Description: Attend a rain barrel workshop to learn more about water conservation, protecting our Alabama Rivers and the construction of a rain barrel for home use. You’ll go home with a greater appreciation of Alabama’s natural resources and a 55-gallon rain barrel for your home use. Workshop participants will learn about watersheds, local watershed issues, storm water and its effects on water quality. We will show you how to build a simple, inexpensive and easy to maintain rain barrel. You willl be able to build your very own rain barrel, with the tools and materials provided. There will be several trainers to help folks that are unfamiliar with using power tools. Be prepared to get a little dirty and have a lot of fun. Don’t forget that a 55 gal plastic barrel may not fit in your trunk. Please pre-register by Friday, July 20th

Description: If you are a beginner who has a few chickens and wants to learn more, someone who has considered raising chickens and needs help getting started, or a well-seasoned backyard poultry enthusiast this workshop is for you! State specialists from Auburn University will provide backyard poultry producers with information to improve health within their flock.
