| Description: |
In partnership with the Wiregrass Beekeepers Association for the annual harvesting of honey from the six hives at Landmark Park. The urban beekeeping program implemented the beekeeping program at Landmark Park as part of a grant to educate the public about honey bees and other pollinators. Participants will have the opportunity to uncap honey frames and extract honey from the frames. The park sells the honey to general public, retail stores, and farmers market to generate revenue to continue the Beekeeping Educational Program. The wax is used to make lip balm, soap, and hand lotion to be sold as well. |
