In cooperation with the City of Dothan Leisure Services for summer youth camp. Youth will have the opportunity to exlpore the world of geocaching by using hand held GPS units. Approximately eight caches will located over a ten acre forested area. Youth will receive instruction on how to use GPS units to locate caches that contain redeemable certificates. The activity requires youth to be prepared to walk a few miles in hot weather and may come upon some wildlife. |

The Community Health Aerobic Motivational Program Initiating Optimal Nutrition (CHAMPION) was designed to improve the overall health of children, teens, adults, including the elderly through lifestyle changes such as adopting obtainable and safe eating practices, daily physical activity, and improving behavioral habits to aid in the prevention, intervention, and maintenance of chronic diseases. There are many stages of this program for all audiences. Children and teens under the age of 18 will only be taught nutrition education and the importance of physical activity. Individuals age 18 and older participate in the weight management component that includes classes on nutrition, physical activity, and chronic diseases. |
