FMNP is a program designed to give low income women, children and seniors vouchers to redeem for fresh produce at local farmers markets, along with related nutrition education. It encourages state agencies, communities, farmers, and recipients to be active partners in a common effort to support the local economy and improve the health of families. Annually, all farmers must submit 1) a new farmers agreement and 2) a current year's growers permit to the FMA prior to accepting any FMNP vouchers. Farmers who have participated in this program previously are asked to bring their FMNP STAMP as new stamps will be issued for 2009. Personnel will be on hand at the training to fill out BOTH forms necessary to participate in 2009.
