The Alabama Cooperative Extension System will conduct a seminar on managing feral hog damage on Thursday, March 12th, 8:30 AM - 2:30 PM. The seminar will be held in Lowndes County at the Southern Sportsman Lodge, located at 9022 US HWY 80 W, Tyler, AL 36785. Speakers will include representatives from the Alabama Cooperative Extension System, Alabama Department of Conservation & Natural Resources, Auburn University, School of Forestry & Wildlife Sciences, and the USDA Wildlife Services. The program is open to the public. All interested parties are encouraged to attend. Pre-registration is required and there is a $10 registration fee. Lunch and refreshments will be provided. |

A three part evening 'Home Grown' Workshop will be held weekly beginning Thursday, March 12th on the campus of Auburn University in Comer Hall of the College of Agriculture. It will start at 5 p.m. and conclude at 7 p.m. each night. Cost is $10 for the three night series or $5 per night. March 12th - Vegetable Garden Basics. March 19th - Soils & Plant Nutrition and Raised Bed Gardening. March 26th - Container Gardening, and Home Fruit Selection. Participants must pre-register by calling the Lee County Extension office at 334-749-3353. |
