Description: Lecture and interactive opportunity designed to teach small-scale poultry producers about humanely and safely processing poultry deemed for personal consumption or resale. These workshops will discuss and demonstrate best management practices and food safety for farmers interested in processing their own birds. The goal of these events is for producers to become more self-sufficient and/or market a food-safe meat product at local farmers markets to generate additional farm income. Anyone with an interest in learning more about home-style processing of poultry is encouraged to preregister. Participation is limited to the first fifteen registrants who pay in advance, participation fee is $20/person, or $35/couple. Payment and preregistration should take place at one of the offices below relevant to where you plan to attend. Once you have paid each office will provide you with detailed event address.
