COMMITTEE BYLAWS

Committee Members

1.  No more than three representatives from any one organization or agency will be represented on the Committee.
The Alabama Natural Resources Council shall appoint Committee membership.

2.  Three representatives from County Natural Resources Committees will sit on the Committee. Each of the three districts will be represented.

3.  The membership should be diverse and represent a cross-section of agencies/organizations represented on the
Alabama Natural Resources Council.

Operations

1. The Chair and Chair-Elect will be appointed by the Alabama Natural Resources Council and will serve 1 year terms each.  These appointments will be made during the January meeting of the Council.  The Chair and Chair-Elect must represent different agencies or organizations.

2. The Secretary and the Committee Liaisons will be elected by the Committee members.

3.Quorum, voting, and proxy procedures will follow the Alabama Natural Resources Coordinating Council By-Laws.
Absentee ballots will not be allowed.

4. The Committee will meet quarterly.

5. The Committee will administer the TREASURE Forest Grant Program.

6. The Committee will administer the selection of Outstanding County Natural Resources Coordinating Committees for the TREASURE Forest and Landowner Conference.

ACTIVE MEMBERS

A survey is being conducted by the Alabama Cooperative Extension System to determine which counties have active local communities.  The results of that survey will be presented at the next meeting of the Alabama Natural Resources Council in January for Subsequent posting on this site.

MISSION

To promote and foster development, operations, and educational endeavors for an active Natural Resources Committee in every Alabama county.
