AQUAPONICS 101 - Using Aquaculture Systems to teach Agriculture, Biology, Chemistry and Math. 

A workshop for teachers who would like to use aquaculture in the classroom to teach math and science June 10-14, 2013.  Auburn AL, Contact Hugh Hammer 256-549-8345 or David Cline 334-844-2874 for details  See agenda from one of the previous workshops.  The 2012 itinerary will be similar. Opportunities in Aquaculture will be held at Harbor Branch Oceanographic
Institute at Florida Atlantic University, Fort Pierce, FL on May 12-14, 2011. This introductory workshop answers fundamental start-up questions for molluscan, fish, and crustacean aquaculture ventures. Topics covered include marketing and production, licensing, regulations, and best management practices. Aquaculture is experienced firsthand through lectures and behind-the-scenes tours. The cost of the workshop is $295,

Fish Culture Techniques will be held at Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute at Florida Atlantic University, Fort Pierce, FL on October 17-19, 2011. This three-day beginner to intermediate workshop highlights techniques used in maturation, spawning, larvae culture, and production of fresh water and marine food fish. Students will interact
with HBOI scientists at the Harbor Branch research facilities and learn techniques through laboratories and classroom presentations. Topics covered will include site selection, facility design, live feeds, and health management. The cost of the workshop is $395, and the
