Volunteers of the Mobile Bay Oyster Gardening Program receive between four and six Page Cages (seen here). Spat set on whole shell receive some protection against predators such as blue crabs and oyster drills. Periodic cleaning of the cages keep the oysters growing.
Student volunteers worked to count oysters in each Page Cage prior to stocking at restoration sites within Mobile Bay.
