This program is a phase of EFNEP with strong support and input from the Alabama Women, Infants, Children (WIC) Nutrition Education Program.  The overall objective is to identify pregnant females or new Moms who wish to breastfeed and encourage the mothers to breastfeed for at least 6 weeks.

Once identified during the pregnancy or upon delivery, breastfeeding techniques are taught by the program assistant in the home or at the hospital.  Upon hospital discharge, the program assistant continues to offer support and encouragement to the nursing mother through home visits.
