Mission Statement
The Alabama Cooperative Extension System, the primary outreach organization for the land-grant mission of Alabama A&M University and Auburn University, delivers research-based educational programs that enable people to improve their quality of life and economic well-being.

Kajuandra Harris

Kajuandra A Harris-Huntley Kajuandra A. Harris-Huntley is a Regional Extension Agent in Human Nutrition, Diet and Health. She holds degrees in Biology and Chemistry (B.S.) and Food and Nutritional Sciences (M.S.) from Delta State University and Tuskegee University respectively.

Currently, she is a Doctoral Candidate in Nutrition and Food Science at Auburn University. Her research involved a two year diet and physical activity assessment of African American adolescents. Some of her program responsibilities include coordinating Alabama in Motion and A New Leaf… Choices for Healthy Living (a structured nutrition and physical activity assessment and counseling program), in partnership with the Alabama Department of Public Health’s Office of Women’s Health.

She is also actively involved in several health initiatives to promote healthy and active lifestyles for the citizens of Alabama, committed to developing and providing superior nutrition, diet and health education programs.

Dr. Kathleen Tajeu is a an Extension Community Health Specialist, who specializes in the following areas: Strategies for Community-Based Health Promotion, Leadership Development for Health Evaluation of Health Promotion, and Health Education program Multicultralism, Social Justice, and Health.  She has a B.A. degree from Syracuse University; MS and PhD from Cornell University.

Her responsibilites include but are not limited to the following: Supporting communities engaging in collaborative efforts to build healthier communities; Health Care consumer and policy education; Breast Cancer education; Teen Pregnancy Prevention; Immunization promotion; National Network for Health Evaluation Workgroup convener; and Bridge for Adolescent Pregnancy, Parenting and Sexuality Executive Committee.

Dr. Evelyn F. Crayton is the Extension Assistant Director for Family and Community Programs.  Dr. Crayton earned a Bachelor Degree in Institution Management with a concentration in Dietetics from Gramblling State University. She then completed a Masters Degree in Dietetics and a Dietetic Internship at St. Loius Universtiy.  In 1991, she received a Doctorate of Vocational and Adult Education from Auburn University.

As Extension Assistant Director her responsibilities include the following: Food Safety; Family and Child Development; Human Nutrition, Diet and Health; Consumer Resources and Personal Financial Management.  She has developed curricula and written materials for the National Cancer Institute, Community Action and Head Start, as well as faith-based groups.  She is currently serving as the Co-PI on an Engineering Technical Assistance grant from the National Science Foundation, a Childhood Obesity grant from CSRS, and a Healthy Homes Southern Regional Asthma Education Project (a USDA/CSREES and HUD parternship) to name a few.
