Some Tips for Houseplant Care
Houseplants may be damaged by overwatering and poor drainage. If the draining is slow, re-pot your plants using plenty of broken pottery or crushed stone in the bottom of the pot. Always use a soilless mix with additional sand or perlite.
Turn and prune houseplants regularly to keep a good shape.
Houseplants need all the light they can receive during the winter and spring, but may need the protection of a thin curtain from direct sun in south or western exposures.
Don't place plants on the TV set. The television is one of the hottest places in the house!
To increase humidity around plants, place potted plants on a shallow tray (about 1 ½ - 2 inches deep) filled with pebbles. Pebbles always should be kept moist.
Group plants together and place in the bathroom or near the kitchen sink. This will increase the humidity level around plants.
