How Much Garden Should You Grow

Trying to decide just how much garden is enough?  Here are some guidelines to help you.

For one person, plant beans, beets, carrots, kale, lettuce, mustard, onion, swiss chard and turnip in one 6-foot row.

Six plants of broccoli and peppers should provide plenty of produce for you.  For peas, plant one 12-foot row and for potatoes and sweet corn, one 25-foot row.

For one person, plant two to four plants of cabbage, cauliflower, cucumber, melons, squash and tomato.

Multiply these figures by the number of people the garden will serve to determine how much garden you should plant.
