EFNEP Biennial Conference IS Nov. 12-13 In Auburn The Biennial Conference of the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) conducted by the Alabama Cooperative Extension System, is set for Nov. 12-13 at the Auburn University Hotel and Conference Center in Auburn. The conference will celebrate 30 years of EFNEP programs in Alabama. Conference participants will have opportunities to share programming ideas and resources; receive information on how to improve the quality of teaching; hear results of EFNEP impact on Alabama families; and plan development for future directions of EFNEP in Alabama. Registration for the two-day conference begins at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 12. The opening session begins at 1 p.m. Keynote speaker for the opening session is the Honorable Laura Hall, Representative, Alabama House District 19. Following the keynote speaker are afternoon sessions on marketing EFNEP -- your personal image, nutrition for kids and adults, food safety and cooking without a kitchen. These sessions will be conducted by Extension specialists at Auburn University. Thursday night a special recognition banquet and talent showcase are scheduled. Friday, after a breakfast speaker, sessions on Basic EFNEP, 4-H DOT and Today's Mom are planned. A panel discussion with representatives from cooperating agencies is set for 10:30 a.m., followed by an EFNEP celebration and award luncheon. |
