4-H District Roundups Set for June AUBURN, May 28,2002---Six 4-H district roundups are scheduled for June at various locations in the state. June 13, the Huntsville/Tri-Cities Roundup will be held at Alabama A&M University in Normal. Counties involved include Cherokee, Colbert, DeKalb, Franklin, Jackson, Lauderdale, Lawrence, Limestone, Madison, Marshall and Morgan. Also on June 13, the Mobile District Roundup will be held at Evergreen High School, in Evergreen. Counties included are Autauga, Baldwin, Butler, Clarke, Conecuh, Escambia, Lowndes, Mobile, Monroe, Washington, and Wilcox. June 13-14, the Dothan District Roundup is set for Troy State University in Troy. Counties included are Barbour, Bullock, Montgomery, Coffee, Covington, Crenshaw, Dale, Geneva, Henry, Houston and Pike. June 18-19, the Anniston District Roundup will be held at the Anniston Meeting Center. Counties included are Calhoun, Chambers, Clay, Cleburne, Coosa, Elmore, Lee, Macon, Russell, Talladega and Tallapoosa. June 21, the Birmingham District Roundup is set for the University of Montevallo. Counties included are Blount, Cullman, Etowah, Fayette, Jefferson, Lamar, Marion, Shelby, St. Clair, Walker and Winston. The last roundup is the Tuscaloosa District Roundup, to be held at Judson College in Marion. Counties included are Bibb, Chilton, Choctaw, Dallas, Greene, Hale, Marengo, Perry, Pickens, Sumter and Tuscaloosa. Competitive events at each roundup include a variety of events. Some of these are automotive driving, chickenque, electric energy demonstration, dairy foods demonstration, breads exhibit, egg demonstration, beef cook-off, meats demonstration, plant and soil science exhibit, informative and persuasive public speaking, bicycle safety, lawn tractor driving, tractor driving, photography exhibit, and wood science demonstration and exhibit. First- and second-place winners in all senior events at the District Roundups are eligible to compete at State 4-H Congress, July 15-16, at Alabama A&M University.
