AUBURN, MAY 8---Weather data from the Alabama Mesonet is now available to the public. It can be found on the web at http://www.awis.com/mesonet/index.html.
According to Dr. Charles Ogburn, District Extension Coordinator on Special Assignment with the Alabama Cooperative Extension System, anyone with web access can now look at the daily and 30-day summary from weather stations in the Mesonet.
Some data are gathered from automated weather stations deployed in support of research projects. These stations may be operational only for short periods of time and with varying instrumentation.
The Auburn University Mesonet observations are made available through cooperation of the Alabama Cooperative Extension System, Alabama Agricultural Experiment Station, College of Agriculture and the Agricultural Weather Informtion Service, Inc. (AWIS).
