Southern
Peanut Growers Conference July 22-24
May 25---The
third annual Southern Peanut Growers Conference is set July
22-24 at Edgewater Beach Resort in Panama City Beach, Fla.
Keynote speakers for the
conference include Texas Congressman Larry Combest, chairman of the
House Agriculture Committee and Alabama Congressman Terry Everett,
chairman of the House Ag Committee's subcommittee on specialty crops
and foreign agriculture program; Dr. Marshall Lamb, Peanut Research
Laboratory, and Dr. Paul Blankenship with the Agriculture Research
Service.
Speakers from the
National Peanut Board will discuss research and promotion programs
and ongoing projects, and a panel will discuss the latest happenings
with mvarious commodities.
The registration feet
for the conference is $95 each for U.S. peanut growers, their
spouses and children. Registration for fees for media, government,
Extension and research representatives is $245 each. The
registration deadline for the conference is June 25.
